The demand to attend SUNY Cortland is high. In fact, it is the highest first-year class the school has welcomed in 33 years.
SUNY Cortland welcomed almost 1,400 first year students for the fall of 2022 semester. Over 11,700 students applied for admission for the fall semester overall.

Nationally, enrollment has been down 4.1% over a one-year span in 2022. SUNY Cortland President Erik Bitterbaum credits the school admissions office for the high increase in enrollment at the school
