SUNY Cortland Welcomes Largest Class in 33 Years

The demand to attend SUNY Cortland is high. In fact, it is the highest first-year class the school has welcomed in 33 years.












SUNY Cortland welcomed almost 1,400 first year students for the fall of 2022 semester. Over 11,700 students applied for admission for the fall semester overall.

Students and their families realize that they can receive a world-class education at an affordable cost while enjoying the unique academic, athletic and social experience this university offers. SUNY Cortland is an amazing institution with faculty, staff and alumni who truly care about our students.”

Nationally, enrollment has been down 4.1% over a one-year span in 2022. SUNY Cortland President Erik Bitterbaum credits the school admissions office for the high increase in enrollment at the school
