
SUNY Cortland suspends all Spring Sports through Mar. 22
Local News, Local Sports March 12, 2020Officials with SUNY Cortland Athletics today (March 12) announced that all spring contests, both home and away, have been suspended through March 22 due to continuing fears over the COVID-19 outbreak.
The winter teams still competing will complete their seasons as scheduled, including women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, women’s swimming and diving and wrestling.
“This is still a highly fluid situation and is subject to change on a daily basis as more information becomes available,” SUNY Cortland officials said in a press release. “If and when there are follow-up announcements, the information will be updated and posted as soon as possible.”

Currently there are no changes to the schedules for these sports as they enter postseason play.
The track and field teams are competing at the NCAA Division III Championships March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, N.C., and the wrestling team is at the NCAA Division III Championships March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
UPDATE: The NCAA has made the decision to not allow spectators at the 2020 Div. III Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The women’s gymnastics team is at the NCGA East Regionals March 15 at Springfield College. One women’s diver will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships March 19 and 21 in Greensboro, N.C.
