Students will start trickling back into the SUNY Cortland campus today. The bulk of the returning students will move in this weekend.
The college’s 16 residence halls, the West Campus Apartments and Leadership House open today to new students who did not attend the summer orientation program.
With students moving in this weekend traffic around Cortland will be a bit heavier than usual. Lines at local grocery and other stores will be a bit longer too.
Prospect Terrace from Graham Avenue to Neubig Road will be reduced to one-way traffic this weekend and traffic will be limited to students moving into the residence halls.
Just under 7 thousand students are enrolled for the fall semester. Classes are to start on Monday.
College President Erik J. Bitterbaum will deliver his annual opening address today.
Starting on Friday students can take part in a number of Welcome Week events geared to help them connect with the campus community.
