A busy intersection for both motorists and pedestrians will be getting a major overhaul this spring. The intersection of Neubig Road, Pashley Drive and Broadway Avenue in the City of Cortland is expected to be completely reconstructed to enhance pedestrian safety.

The intersection is a busy crossroad for SUNY Cortland students traveling from the hill to the Student Life Center and Park Center on the school’s West Campus. Work is expected to begin once students are finished with the Spring 2024 semester on May 13th.

Work on the intersection will require the intersection to close to vehicle traffic from May 13th to about June 14th. Detour signage will be posted to guide traffic. Representatives from SUNY Cortland say work will include new storm sewer lines, a traffic signal, crosswalk signage, a new bus stop for buses traveling eastwards.

Phase work will begin this Monday, SUNY Cortland says. The intersection has not had any major improvements in over 15 years.
