SUNY Cortland has a new provost and vice president for academic affairs at the university.

Ann McClellan assumes the role after recently serving as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. In fact, it was similarities between Cortland and Plymouth State that drew McClellan to come and work for SUNY Cortland in the first place.

As for her initial plans now that McClellan is in the role, she says she’s intending to meet with and listen to members of Cortland faculty and staff to learn of their research, priorities and concerns. McClellan takes over for Mark Prus, who returns to the Economics Department after serving as Cortland’s provost and vice president for academic affairs since 2008.
