The administrative judge who oversees the sixth judicial district, which includes Cortland and Tompkins county’s has been appointed to a State Appellate Court.
Justice Robert Mulvey, who was elected a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court for the Sixth Judicial District in 2000, has been appointed by Governor Cuomo to serve on the State Supreme Court Appellate Division Third Department in Albany.
Judge Mulvey, who presently oversees the 10 County 6th Judicial District has previously served as Legislative Counsel for State Senator Jim Seward. He has also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tompkins County and as the Tompkins County Attorney.
Judge Mulvey is a 1977 graduate of SUNY Cortland where he earned his bachelor’s degree in History and received his law degree from New York Law School in 1980.
