SUNY Cortland Expects One of Largest First-Year Classes in School History

This year, SUNY Cortland says it will welcome 1,400 new first-year students, along with an additional 400 transfer students. Move-in began Thursday and will continue through the weekend.

Areas around the university campus are expected to be busier as students and their families arrive. Those traveling into the City of Cortland should plan for extra travel time due to increased traffic.

According to SUNY Cortland, the university has a 15-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio for undergraduate students, with 27 departments and 67 undergraduate majors. The university also offers 39 graduate programs.

SUNY Cortland tells X101 News that this year’s first-year class is expected to be one of the largest in the university’s history. Total enrollment is expected to remain consistent with recent years, at just under 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
