SUNY Cortland Earns National Recognition in Annual U.S. News and World Report Rankings

SUNY Cortland has earned another national recognition following their recognition from Niche.com earlier this year. The college says it has once again been placed in the U.S. News and World Reports annual ranking. SUNY Cortland also says this year’s ranking say the college climbed several spots from the previous year. Something the college says shows the upward trend among some of the best educational opportunities in the region and country.

U.S. News and World Report listed SUNY Cortland as #13 in Top Public Universities for Regional Universities North and tied #33 for all schools in the Regional Universities North Category out of 170 schools. Rankings by U.S. News and World Report come from student reviews, graduation outcomes, faculty resources, financial resources and data provided by the National Science Foundation and Department of Education.

“Recognition like this highlights the extraordinary education SUNY Cortland delivers, from the classroom to our larger campus community,” President Erik J. Bitterbaum said. “These rankings also are a testament to the life-changing faculty members who teach and mentor our students across exceptional programs in the arts and sciences, education and professional studies. We’re very proud to be included again among New York’s top medium-sized public universities.”

SUNY Cortland also says the school ranked #72 in the country out of 585 in the nonprofit media company Washington Monthly’s Master’s University Rankings. This ranking put SUNY Cortland in the top 15% nationally.
