Summerhill Man Charged With Felony Aggravated Family Offense Following Domestic Violence Call, Cayuga Sheriff Says
Cayuga County Sheriff, Brian Schenck, says his deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Summerhill just before 3:30 in the afternoon back on November 27th for a reported domestic violence incident.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found a female victim was involved in a physical altercation with 38 year old Joseph A. Frost of Summerhill. The altercation also too place in front of a child, Schenck says.
The female victim told deputies that during the altercation, she had attempted to call for help, but Frost took and broke her cell phone. A further investigation by deputies found Frost has a previous criminal record of domestic violence within the previous 5 years. Due to this deputies charged Frost with Aggravated Family Offense, a Felony. He was also charged with 2 Counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Misdemeanors.
Frost was transported to the Public Safety Building for processing and then turned over to the Cayuga County Jail for Centralized Arraignment. He was later released on his own recognizance. Frost is due in Summerhill Town Court next week.
