The first repaving in 20 years at the Ithaca airport is finished, a day early.
Airport managers gave credit to the hard work of Suit-Kote employees and everyone involved in the big job.
In a news release, Airport manager Mike Hall commented: “Without the tremendous collaboration of the airport stakeholders, this project would not have been successful. I want to recognize the Suit-Kote employees who worked with 350-degree asphalt in the hot sun to complete the work and C&S Engineering who designed and supervised the project.”
Friday at noon, a private twin-engine plane is expected to be the first to land when the airport reopens.
The first commercial flight arrival is expected at 9:17 Saturday morning.
