Suit-Kote Recognizes Employee With Over 50 Years Working With Company – Plans to Keep on Trucking

It was right at 9am when Don Deiss arrived on Grant Street in the City of Cortland to start another day with Suit-Kote. Deiss has been working with the company for 53 years, his first day was on June 3rd, 1971 and is the longest working employee of Suit-Kote ever.
What Don didn’t know that morning though was his wife Dorothy, dozens of his fellow coworkers, supervisors, Mayor of Cortland, Deputy Chief of the City of Cortland Police Department, and members of Suit-Kote’s Leadership Team including CEO Frank Suits Jr, were there to recognize his ongoing commitment and hard work and wealth of knowledge he has been able to share for 53 years.
“Don is a constant and what he does here what [Suit-Kote] we do here is specialized and he’s taught so many younger folks how to be a professional in this industry and ultimately treat the customer properly.” CEO of Suit-Kote Franks Suits Jr. said to X101 News.
Suit-Kote says Don’s first work in asphalt began during the Vietnam War when he would spray oil on airport runways in Vietnam when he was in the military. In 1971, he first worked at the Suit-Kote facility in Norwich when it was open. Throughout his career Don has been known for his professionalism and is sought after by customers for this thorough work as a Distributor Operator.

“A person with the longevity and integrity that Don Deiss has is [something] we couldn’t ask for more. It’s such an honor and we’re grateful to have this opportunity with him today and his wife Dorothy.” Suits continued.
Each day at the job site, wherever it may be, Don is never late, never complains, and will also be polite and great with Suit-Kote’s customers. For his co-workers that work with him on projects, many can thank their knowledge and experience to Don. In fact, Suit-Kote noted Don has even helped train sales representatives regarding application rates and what a road truly needs.
After the recognition, it was right back to work for Don on Grant Street to get the job done right.
