Structure Fire Brings Large Emergency Response in Tully

Around 4pm today, October 17th the Tully Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire at 58 State St. (US Route 11). Upon arrival fire fighters found heavy smoke coming from the rear of a one story residence and called for assistance.

State St. was closed between Elm and Meeting House Rd. while fire crews knocked down the flames. X101 spoke with State Police who said there was no injuries reported, but possibly cats inside died as a result of the fire.

Responding departments were Otisco Fire, Homer Fire, Nedrow Fire, Southwood Fire, Pompey fire, Lafayette fire, Fabius Fire departments. Tully Ambulance and TLC Ambulance also stood by on scene. National Grid was also assisting on scene.

Assisting for traffic control was New York State Police and the Onondaga Sheriff’s Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Homer Fire was cleared from the scene around 5pm.
