Street Closures Announced in Homer For Fire Department 150th Celebrations

Multiple street closures have been announced for tomorrow, July 22nd, as the Homer Fire Department looks to celebrate their 150th anniversary with events on Main Street and a fire truck parade down Main Street in the Village of Homer.


Main Street in the Village of Homer will be closed from 10:50 am to 7pm between James and Cayuga Street. Parking will remain available behind businesses on Main Street with access via Pine Street from River Street.

Signs to the Brewster House will be posted. The Village says access will be from entering the American Legion parking lot and proceed following the signs posted.

Additionally, Clinton Street from Route 281 to Main Street will close from 4:50 pm to about 7:00 pm. During the time of the closure, residents on Elm and Maple may travel to/from their residents through the road behind the Homer Police Station.

Shuttle service will once again be provided by the Homer Central School District from 11am to 6pm. Shuttle stops will include: Homer High School, Village Green (Cayuga Street side), Future site of linear park, and CNY Living History Center. Handicapped parking will be available at the James Street municipal lot for those with a valid permit only.
Parking at the Homer Town Hall will be closed from 8 am to 11 pm and is to only be used by fire department members and guests only along with the basketball courts and charging stations closing at 10 pm tonight with no overnight parking and will reopen at 6am Sunday.
