UPDATE – 9/11/2020
James Street will be closed off from traffic once again on Monday (September 14), as DDS crews finish up utility replacement work in the village of Homer.
The road will be open to motorists for the duration of this weekend.
Officials with DDS say they’re almost done with milling and will soon begin installation of a final top coarse of asphalt on North Main Street.
They could be done as early as Monday’s end, at which point road service will be fully restored.
ORIGINAL POST – 8/20/2020
A road closure originally planned for today on James Street in the village of Homer is now scheduled for Monday, August 24.
DDS utility crews will be working to install a gas line across James Street, near Dasher’s Pub and the north end of the U.S. Post Office.
The road will be closed between Main and Cortland Streets.
Village police chief Bob Pitman says the road will be closed to thru traffic only, with flag persons at each end of the closed section.
