According to a press release from Cortland City Police, the ATM stolen from A&W Restaurant was recovered from the Tioughnioga River.
On Wednesday (August 30th) morning at 10:30, police arrested Elijah Sharp, age 49, of Cortland.
He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, tampering with physical evidence, both felonies, and conspiracy.
Back on August 6th, he was in possession of a stolen ATM machine from A&W (State Police are handling that case) and then threw the ATM machine in the Tioughnioga River
Police received a tip that the machine was in the river and located it.
Sharp was already in jail and was arraigned in city court and sent back to jail with no bail.
