Sting and Shaggy are already shaping up to be the double act of the year.
The pair released their first joint album on Friday (April 20th), called 44/876, which is named after the respective dialing codes for England and Jamaica.
On Saturday night (April 21st), they took to the stage together as part of “The Queen’s Birthday Party” at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Shaggy, who’ll join Sting on the road for a handful of Italian dates this summer, explained how organically the tracks fell into place for the new album: “Six weeks — that just shows you how the magic was flowing. And when it’s very second nature like that, you just kinda have to run with it. We never planned on it being a record (or) for us to do it in a joint project, or anything like that.
We just started making music as friends.” at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
