Even when he’s not on the stage or in the studio with “The Boss” — Steve Van Zandt remains a devoted Bruce Springsteen acolyte. Variety reported that Springsteen On Broadway is doing incredible business, with the show raking in a cool $2,401,108 last week alone.
For Van Zandt, the show is yet another example of how Springsteen can convey his message to both old and new fans alike: “Oh, it was just great. Really, really great. I loved it. ‘Saw it twice. Y’know, it was just a whole ‘nother medium and, y’know, he really adjusted to really creating a new kind of show, y’know? I really loved how he did it, and the way he did it. The audience has been going crazy for it — it’s great. So, he keeps on conquering new territory, y’know?” at Manhattan’s Walter Kerr Theatre.
