Yesterday, the New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors authorized the beginning of a toll adjustment process for the state thruway system. Beginning on January 1st 2024, Incentivize NY E-ZPass usage will increase the current 30% tolls by mail rate differential to a 75% differential. This differential will not be applied to NY E-ZPass customers.

Also on January 1st, 2024. Non-NY E-ZPass Rate will increase the current Non-NY E-ZPass toll rate differential from 15% rate differential. A toll rate 15% above the NY E-ZPass rate to a 75% differential. This differential will not be applied to NY E-ZPass customers.

NY E-ZPass Rates will increase on January 1st 2024, and on January 1st, 2027, with the base rate increasing by 5% from their prior levels.

“The Thruway Authority and its incredible team of employees work hard every day to hold the line on spending and present a balanced budget that ensures the continued viability of the system,” said Thruway Authority Executive Director Matthew J. Driscoll. “As a tolling authority, we receive no federal, state or local tax dollars to support our operations. We have not seen a system-wide toll increase since 2010, and now is the time to move ahead with this financial plan so that we can meet our growing capital investment needs while continuing to provide our customers with the safe and reliable highway they’ve come to expect.”
