Statewide Burn Ban in Effect Through End of November
A burn ban is now in effect statewide through November 30th, the Department of Environmental Conservation has announced. The ban is due to dry conditions and numerous brush and wildfires affecting the state.
During the burn ban, no open burning will be allowed. This ban includes the burning of leaves, brush, or any other type of debris. With the dry and windy conditions at times, fires can easily spread as a result.
Dry weather conditions are expected through early next week with seasonal temperatures, the National Weather Service in Binghamton reports.
