State Sales Tax revenue grew in the month of November, according to the latest report from the Officer of the New York State Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli. Sales tax collections grew by nearly 9% for the month.
“November marked another solid month for sales tax collections for local governments,” Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said. “Although many forecasters are predicting that national retail sales will be strong this holiday season, local officials should continue to monitor the economic factors impacting sales tax when estimating their own revenue projections for the remainder of the year.”
Cortland County saw an 8.3% increase in sales tax revenue in November with total revenue being $2.8 million dollars, an increase of $200,000 dollars in revenue when compared to November of 2021.
Year to date sales tax revenue for the county is now at $34.9 million dollars, up 4% from 2021.
