State Police – Three Arrested Following Car Into Ditch in Town of Truxton
State Police say around 9:30pm on Tuesday, December 9th, Troopers were dispatched for a vehicle into a ditch on Cheningo Road in the Town of Truxton. State Police say a Trooper located 53 year old Andrew E. Frank of Norwich in the driver’s seat of a Mazda. However, State Police say Frank provided the Trooper with a different name and date of birth.
Further investigation found Frank provided false information on who he was; Troopers also learned Frank had outstanding warrants with the Rome Police Department and Canastota Police Department. Frank was also found to be driving while he was impaired.
Troopers conducted a further investigation and determined Frank and two passengers, 39 year old Damien M. Chernoff, and 24 year old Brittany L. Cox, both of Oxford, were in possession of illegal drugs.
All three were arrested and charged. Frank is facing charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, a Felony, DWI by Drugs, and False Personation, both Misdemeanors.
Chernoff and Cox were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, a Felony. All three were transported to the State Police Barracks at Homer and later transported to the Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
