The search for two men who fled during a traffic stop in Whitney Point Friday continues. The pursuit started here in Cortland County.
New York State Police have been searching for two men since they fled on foot Friday.
It all started Friday when State Troopers recognized a vehicle wanted out of Oneida on I-81 here in Cortland County.
The driver refused to stop and continued south to Whitney Point. The driver and four passengers bailed out the vehicle on the Whitney Point Off ramp and fled into a wooded area.
Troopers were able to locate and take three of the suspects custody.
The three men were found to be in possession of multiple stolen credit cards and numerous ID’s from throughout the U.S. They were also wanted for questioning in Oneida County for suspected bank fraud.
All three men are from Florida and they each have been charged with seven counts of criminal possession of stolen property and are all being held in the Broome County jail.
The two other suspects are described as black males in their late teens to early 20s.

The men are not believed to be armed or dangerous, but residents around Whitney Point should make sure to lock their doors, cars and windows, and keep an eye on valuables.
