State Police Issued Over 38,000 Tickets During Click-It or Ticket Campaign

New York State Police have announced that during their Click-it or Ticket campaign, they issued a total of 38,368 tickets to motorists statewide.


The campaign ran from May 22nd to Saturday, June 4th. The campaign was partially funded through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and used sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and tickets drivers who were using handheld devices.

In total, 399 people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and police investigated over 2,400 crashes, with two being fatal. For Troop C (Our State Police Zone) 19 were arrested for DWI, 95 ticketed for distracted driving, 26 for move over violations, 863 for speeding, and 906 for child restraint or seatbelt violations.
