New York State Police have identified the driver who was involved in a high speed pursuit that ended on Main Street in the City of Cortland on Wednesday, November 15th.
Troopers have identified the driver as 26 year old Leonid Kozlov, of the Bronx. He is facing charges of Unlawful Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving and Resisting Arrest, all Misdemeanors. Kozloz is also facing numerous traffic violations.
On Wednesday, a State Trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a blue BMW convertible on I81 when the vehicle then failed to comply and fled. The suspect ended up traveling in the City of Cortland at speeds reportedly over 100mph.
The chase ended with the vehicle facing the wrong way on Main Street at the Tompkins/Port Watson Street intersection around 2:30 that afternoon.
