State Minimum Wage Set to Increase Again Come January
Beginning on January 1st, 2026, the minimum wage in New York will once again raise. For Upstate, the minimum wage will increase $0.50 to $16.00 per hour. For the following year, 2027, the minimum wage will increase by the three-year moving average of the Consumer Price Index.
“In the face of steadily rising costs and inflation, this historic plan to overhaul New York’s minimum wage will ensure that the wages of those hit hardest by the affordability crisis – including women, single mothers, and people of color – keep pace with the cost of living,” Governor Hochul said.
