UPDATE (June 11, 2019)
State Legislators voted yesterday (June 10) in favor of legalizing sports betting as described in the story below.
Four upstate casinos await a vote today (June 10) from the State Gaming Commission that would make regulated sports wagering legal at their facilities, including Tioga Downs in Nichols.
Under the current proposal, New York casinos would be required to apply for a sports wagering license and also dedicate a sports betting area separate from their other gambling options.
The new legislation would also apply to all Native American-owned casinos in the state, including the Turning Stone.
At this point, mobile sports betting would not be affected by these new regulations.
