Despite perfect weather conditions for this year’s edition of the New York State Fair attendance overall was still down this year.
The fair wrapped up its two-week run yesterday with the second annual “dollar day.” Admission was just a buck along with discounts on rides, food and drinks.
Total attendance for 2015 was 908,147. That ranks 15th among all Fairs since 1938. In 2014, 965,147 people attended the fair. The record is 1 million visitors set back in 2001.
Estimated attendance for Chevy Court performances was up and the Fair also broke a record when it comes to the number of potatoes sold for $1 at the Horticulture building. 58,575 were sold during the 2015 run of The Fair.
