State DMV Encouraging NYer’s to Sign-up For REAL ID During State Fair
For those looking to fly domestically through the United States, you will soon be required to have a REAL-ID compliant ID in order to fly beginning on May 7th, 2025. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is encouraging all NYer’s to upgrade their license, permit, or non-driver ID to a REAL ID or an Enhanced ID.
The DMV says during the State Fair this year, residents may visit the DMV’s mobile office where they can upgrade their current ID’s. The DMV’s mobile office will be located in the Center of Progress Building within the Fairgrounds with transactions allowed from 10am to 10pm beginning this Wednesday through August 29th
“It’s always a pleasure and an honor to come back to the Great New York State Fair, the Empire State’s largest annual event and the country’s longest-running state fair,” said DMV Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder. “We are delighted to continue our tradition of offering our customers information about our services and giving them a convenient way to conduct their DMV business while they are there.”
Those who are interested in obtaining a REAL ID or an Enhanced ID will be required to bring their application, proof of identity and proof of residency to the mobile office. The DMV offers a document guide, found HERE, to assist them in the specifics of the required documents.
