The New York State Department of Labor released the October figures for private sector jobs added in the state. The total amount? Only 3,700 jobs to a total of 8,063,300 jobs in October.
The state’s total job growth increased by 306,400, or 3.9% over the year last month. This beats the national rate, which was at a 3.8% increase.
Cortland County, total private sector jobs stands at around 19,000, an increase of 600 over the year. Back in October of 2021, Cortland County had about 18,400 private sector jobs.
New York State is still about 300,000 jobs lower than what it had before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
