Staff Member at William George Injured in Assault, Tompkins Sheriff’s Office Says

Undersheriff of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office Jennifer Olin says a staff member at the William George Agency in Dryden sustained a head injury following an assault by three juvenile residents.

Around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office responded to the William George Agency for the reported assault. Deputies learned three juveniles had assaulted a staff member and fled from the area. The three juveniles were two females and one male.

On scene, deputies located a 26 year old male staff member who was bleeding from the head. Olin says he was transported to a local hospital. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

A search was conducted in the surrounding area of the three juveniles. Deputies were able to locate the three juveniles walking along Fall Creek Road. All three were taken into custody. The two females were turned back over to William George.

The male juvenile was charged with Assault in the 2nd, a Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th, a Misdemeanor. He was processed and issued an appearance ticket. He was then released back to the William George Agency.

Assisting the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office was the New York State Police.
