St. Patrick’s Day STOP-DWI Campaign Begins Tomorrow
Don’t test your luck this St. Patrick’s Day, get a designated driver. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says they and surrounding law enforcement agencies will be participating in New York State’s STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign beginning tomorrow, March 12 through the 18.
The STOP-DWI campaign is one of many initiatives by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee aimed at reducing the dangers of drunk and impaired driving. Motorists can expect to see an increase in police patrols of both marked and unmarked vehicles, and sobriety checkpoints throughout the state.
With the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, plan ahead and make sure you have a safe and sober way to get home.
