A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday, August 14th at Springbrook’s newest location right here in the City of Cortland. In attendance at the ribbon cutting was Congressman Marc Molinaro, local city officials, and most importantly, those who will benefit from Springbrook’s presence in Cortland County.
Springbrook provides support and services to people who have developmental disabilities. The organization currently supports well over 1,000 people and families throughout the state and has been in operation for over 90 years.
The organization works to teach skills needed to maximize someone’s potential and create a comprehensive learning environment. Partnerships include school districts, and community organizations.
The new Cortland office is Springbrook’s 7th Community Services Office. Other locations include Ithaca, Binghamton, Norwich, and Johnson City.
“What Springbrook does is break down barriers and create opportunities for everyone regardless of ability or what we perceive their ability to be and often that is the problem.” Congressman Marc Molinaro said to the audience.
