The Pall Trinity plant on Route 281 in Cortlanville was evacuated yesterday due to a chemical spill.
Just before 1:30 Thursday afternoon firefighters responded to the factory for a report of an ammonia spill.
The Cortland Hazmat team was called to the scene.
City Fire Chief Chuck Glover said the spill involved polymer beads that were exposed to air and emitted a chemical.
No one was exposed to the fumes and there were no injuries reported. The building was reopened after 5pm last night.
Company officials did not comment on the spill.
Cortlandville and Dryden Fire Departments responded to the scene with several area fire departments placed on stand-by.
