Dump truck rollover briefly closes part of Route 90

Yesterday (September 7) around 9:38 AM, Officers of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 90 near Tamarack Lane in the Town of Homer for a reported one vehicle rollover accident.

The vehicle was a 2014 Ford F550 Dump Truck that was hauling large pieces of concrete and soil.

Its driver went off the right side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its roof in the center of the road.

A section of Route 90 was closed for about an hour while crews worked to remove the vehicle and debris.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

Assisting the sheriff’s office at the accident scene were members from the Homer Fire Department, the Virgil Fire Department, the New York State Department of Transportation, New York State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit and Ron’s Towing.
