The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is reminding snowmobile owners to make sure they register their snowmobile. All snowmobiles must be renewed annually, the DMV says.

The DMV says snowmobilers may renew their registrations online via the DMV’s website, or by mail or in-person at their local DMV office.

“Winter activities like snowmobiling are important to many of us here in New York,” said Mark J.F. Schroeder, DMV Commissioner and Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee Chair. “DMV is happy to assist customers in getting their snowmobiles registered and ready for use, and we urge all enthusiasts to ride responsibly and never while they are impaired.”

More information regarding registering a snowmobile within New York may be found HERE. For those who are a member of the NYS Snowmobile Association or a local NYSSA-affiliated snowmobile club receive a $55 discount on their snowmobile registration.
