Smithville Woman Charged With Child Porn Charges

State Police received a cybertip back on November 13th, 2023, of child sex abuse material that was uploaded to a mobile messaging application, State Police said in a release.

An investigation by Troopers found 31 year old Bethany L. Crispell of Smithville, had used a mobile messaging application to view and also exchange child sexual materials.

Troopers arrested Crispell on January 31st of this year with the charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child Under the Age of 17 and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. She was remanded to Cortland County Jail for her charges.

Crispell is due in Smithville Town Court tomorrow.
