Single-Vehicle Crash on Kinney Gulf Road Leads to DWI Arrest

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, an officer on patrol on Kinney Gulf Road came upon a single-vehicle crash.

Following an investigation and a conversation with the driver, identified as 27-year-old Brianne D. Cooley of Homer, officers determined that Cooley had lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a snowbank.

Further investigation found that Cooley was driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher, both misdemeanors, along with multiple traffic infractions.

Cooley was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released with traffic citations. She is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
