Shoplifting Complaint at Cortlandville K-Mart Turns Up Hypodermic Needles

Two people are facing multiple charges after they were caught shoplifting at the K-Mart store in Cortlandville earlier this month.

Back on July 16th, Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the store for a shoplifting complaint.

The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Precious Short and 27-year-old Jeffrey Stevens, both are listed as homeless.

Police say they took numerous from the store without paying. When they were taken into custody both were with hypodermic needles.

Both were charged with petit larceny, conspiracy, and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument; all misdemeanors.

Short and Stevens were arraigned in the Cortlandville Town Court and sent to the county jail on $250 cash / $500 bond. Both were due back in court earlier this month.
