“Shop with a Cop” nominations due by November 22

Applications are open for CPD’s annual “Shop with a Cop” initiative.

Tis the season to Shop with A Cop!! Do you know of a family that is experiencing financial hardship, a health crisis or maybe a loss in the family? The Office of Community Oriented Policing is once again partnering with our Cortlandville Walmart, in hopes to put a smile on our local children’s faces.

The event will be held in the beginning of December.

All nominees must currently be a student in the Cortland City School District.

If you have a child or know of a child that should be nominated, please submit a brief e-mail to: atroyer@cortland.org.

In your email please include the name, age and reason why the child should be selected.

Nominations need to be made by e-mail only please, not Facebook messages.

Each child selected will be given a specific amount of money to shop with a City of Cortland Police Officer.

They’re expected to also purchase a gift or gifts for someone else in their family, besides buying themselves something. A pizza party will also take place on the day of the event.

All submissions are due by November 22.
