Sheriff’s Office Warns of Paving Scam

Cortland County Sheriff Mark Helms says his office has recently been made aware of a paving scam incident within the county. Sheriff Helms is reminding residents to always use caution with businesses, especially when they are out of the area, who come to your residence or business uninvited and attempt to sell you cheap service.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to not enter into a contract or allow any work to be done by said businesses who arrive unannounced and offer an “extremely cheap service.”
