Sheriff’s Office Arrests Two For DWI
A Binghamton man and a Cortland man are both facing numerous charges, including DWI from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 5:30 in the morning on December 30th, officers with the Sheriff’s Office responded to I81 in the Town of Homer for a personal injury accident. During their investigation into the cause of the crash, it was determined a vehicle being driven by 36 year old Luther Miller III of Binghamton, was parked on the highway in the left lane and was obstructing ongoing traffic. That obstruction led to a collision with another vehicle.
Miller was found to be driving while intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a Misdemeanor, Refusal of Breath Screening Test, and Stopped/Standing/Parking on Highway, both Infractions. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later released on his own recognizance.
Miller is due in Homer Town Court later this month.
On New Year’s Day around 1:30 in the morning, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driving on Route 13 in Cortlandville. The Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle stopped had multiple traffic violations.
During the stop, the officer was able to determine the driver, 22 year old Dalton L. Carr of Cortland, was driving while he was intoxicated. Carr was arrested and charged with DWI, Driving with .08% or more of Blood Alcohol Content, both Misdemeanors, Failure to Keep Right and Drove Across Hazard Markings, both infractions.
