Sheriff’s Office Arrest Woman After Making False Statements of a Physical Altercation
Back on Monday, August 12th around 11 at night, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Pit Stop in Polkville for a reported domestic disturbance. During an investigation into the disturbance, the Sheriff’s Office says 22 year old Logan P. Blanchard of Cortlandville, gave a statement that alleged her to be a victim in a physical altercation.
The following day, officers continued their investigation into the alleged physical altercation and reviewed surveillance footage of the reported incident. The review of the footage found there was no physical altercation and found Blanchard’s statement to officers to be false.
A warrant was issued for Blanchard’s arrest and she was arrested days later on August 20th for the charge of Making a Punishable False Written Statement, a Misdemeanor. She was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process. Blanchard was later released on her own recognizance.
She is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
