Sheriff’s Deputies Seek To Hear From Public On Cincinnatus Fatal Crash

Update from Cortland County Sheriff’s Office: The name of the operator of the vehicle is Robert J. Fink, 44, and at this time it is believed that excessive speed was a contributing factor of this crash, however at this time the investigation is still ongoing.

County police could use help from anyone who might have seen a fatal accident Sunday morning just before 7 on Rt 41 near Knickerbocker Road in Cincinnatus.

Officers describe a late-model 4-door passenger car that missed a curve, went airborne from an embankment, sheared off a utility pole and rolled several times.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle, according to Sheriff’s deputies, who are waiting until the family is told before releasing more information about the driver.

Cincinnatus Fire and Rescue, TLC, and Ron’s Towing responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
