Cincinnatus Woman Arrested For Welfare Fraud, Grand Larceny

A Cincinnatus woman was arrested yesterday (August 6) for lying to the Cortland County Department of Social Services about her income and earning $1,400 in benefits she was not entitled to.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Tessa Bell, of Lower Cincinnatus Road, falsified her income information to D.S.S. during the months of May and June 2019.

Bell’s been charged with two class E felonies for Welfare Fraud and Grand Larceny.

She’s due back in Cortland city court on August 21.
