On Tuesday, August 8th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office made two additional arrests from a larceny investigation back on April 5th of this year involving a vehicle that was parked at Walmart in Cortlandville.
Officers arrested 45 year old Gabe P. Morris and 45 year old Kyah Stein, both from Groton. The investigation found both Morris and Stein had conspired with another offender (identified as 22 year old Destiny S. Winters of Greene, NY) and stole property of another from a vehicle while it was parked in the Walmart parking lot. Morris then went to a residence in Willet and sold firearms that were stolen to another subject.
Morris was charged with 7 counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th, 2 counts Grand Larceny in the 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th, 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Firearm, all Felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor of Conspiracy in the 5th. He was arraigned and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $5,000 cash $10,000 bond.
Stein was charged with 7 counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th, Grand Larceny in the 3rd, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd, a Felonies, and Conspiracy in the 5th, a Misdemeanor. She was arraigned and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $2,500 cash $5,000 bond.
Both have court dates in the Town of Cortlandville and Morris with another court date in the Town of Willet later this month.
