The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office began a sex abuse investigation Wednesday of reported sexual abuse that took place between May and August of this year at a residence in the Town of Cortlandville.
Through the investigation, officers determined 52 year old Thomas D. Leonard of Cortland, had subjected one victim to inappropriate sexual contact on two occasions. The victim knew Leonard.
A warrant was issued by the Sheriff’s Office for his arrest. He was located and arrested on Friday, August 11th. Leonard faces charges of 2 counts of Sex Abuse in the 1st, a Felony, and 2 counts of Forcible Touching, a Misdemeanor.
Leonard was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and is currently awaiting arraignment.
