Back on September 23rd, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Forest Drive within the Town of Cortlandville for a welfare check of an occupant.
An investigation by officers found 27 year old Ereik L. Alexander, failed to provide medical attention to another person living at the residence, who is less than 17 years old and had severe burns.
Once the investigation was completed, a warrant was issued for Alexander’s arrest. He was taken into custody on Sunday, December 3rd for the charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Making Punishable False Written Statements, both Misdemeanors.
He was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court on December 4th, He was then released on his own recognizance and is due to reappear in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
