Sheriff Identify Man Shot And Killed in Driveway Early Wednesday Morning in Homer

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the homicide victim from an early morning shooting on Grove Street in the Village of Homer on Wednesday, October 8th. The Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 53 year old Anthony T. Beecham of Homer, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Just before 3:30 Wednesday morning, both Homer Police and the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 Grove Street in the Village of Homer for a person suffering cardiac arrest. On arrival, police found Beecham laying in the driveway. Officers began providing life-saving measures until TLC and Homer Rescue arrived on scene. Beecham was then rushed to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Office says the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. A preliminary investigation has shown a dark colored vehicle leaving the area of the shooting at a high speed that morning.
