The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has identified the occupant who died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Stillwell Road in the Town of Solon. Officer’s identified the deceased occupant as Christa M. Delaney.
Back during the early morning hours on December 27th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the single vehicle accident on Stillwell Road in the Town of Solon. An investigation by officers found the vehicle had two occupants and was traveling north on Stillwell Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into a tree.
Delaney was pronounced dead as a result of the crash while the other occupant, identified as Isaac D. Faircloth was transported to Upstate Medical Center and later released. The Sheriff’s Office says Faircloth, while on scene, obstructed the investigation and was also found to be in possession of a stolen credit card. The investigation also found Faircloth violated a full stay away order of protection in the City of Cortland.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains ongoing and the office is still seeking Public Assistance for any information regarding the whereabouts of both Faircloth and Delaney during the early morning hours of December 27th between the hours of 1am and 3:53am. Both were in a red 2015 Nissan Sentra during the time of the crash and were believed to be in the area of Cortland, Cortlandville, McGraw, and Solon.
