There was another round of arrests by officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for those driving under the influence.

About ten minutes after 3 in the morning on Sunday, February 18th, a traffic stop was conducted on State Route 392 near Palmer Road in the Vigil. An investigation by officers found the operator of the vehicle, 31 year old Jacqueline R. Moore of Freeville, was driving drunk.

She was arrested and charged with DWI, Driving with .08% or more of Blood Alcohol Content, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd, all Misdemeanors, and multiple traffic violations. Moore was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on her own recognizance.

She is due in Virgil Town Court later this month.

Later on in the morning on February 18th, around 7am, the Sheriff’s Office says 33 year old Daniel N. McMahon of Marathon, went to the Public Safety Building at 54 Greenbush Street to speak to officers about a previous incident that had occurred.

Officers, though, determined McMahon was operating a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a Misdemeanor and later released on his own recognizance. McMahon is due in Cortland City Court next month.
